All of the earrings in the collections below were made using natural shells from along the coast of North Carolina. Each pair began with hand-formed hooks, jump rings, spirals, etc – typically made from 14K Gold-Filled or Sterling Silver wire. Once these components were complete, a set of matching shells was chosen. Any rough edges were carefully sawed off and later the shells were threaded onto the design. It sometimes took a few tries, but eventually resulted in beautiful, one-of-a-kind earrings.
